I was reading through the newest Cooking Light Magazine and they have an entire article on smoothies. I find myself reaching for the same smoothie time after time (chocolate protein powder, banana, peanut butter repeat) and decided it was time for a change.
They have one that throws fresh mint into the mix and I decided to test it out myself.
The avocado is great for a dose of healthy fats, although you can certainly leave it out if you wish.
- 1 Scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1/4 Cup Chopped Fresh Mint Leaves
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 cup whole milk
- In a blender pulse together the protein powder, mint, avocado, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth
- Add in a small amount of ice, pulse, and continue adding ice until it reaches the desired consistency
Optional: A small amount of mint extract or sweetener may also be used. I added a touch of stevia to mine to make it sweeter
