This time of year always has me reflecting on the past year.. what I’ve done, places I’ve been, things I’ve accomplished. I’ve also found that this time of year seems to put people into a panic. Once Christmas Day is over all of a sudden it’s time to kick it into high gear, get into shape, quit the relaxing, make resolutions, start diets.. on and on and on. Well, not for this girl.
As you can probably tell I’m using this time to relax. From not cooking complicated meals (um, I’ve been using the slow cooker a lot) and taking some time off from the gym, to catching up on sleep and reading books I’ve been meaning to get to (I just ordered 3 cookbooks off of Amazon- oops). I’m also starting to think about what I’d like to accomplish in 2013.
I think it’s easy to forget that the holiday season is still right here with us- or for me at least it’s around until January 2nd. That’s when I get back into high gear… until then I can say it’s nice to take a little step back from the internet, twitter, and facebook.
Instagram, however, that’s another story. I’m an instagram junkie..
I woke up yesterday to the snowiest of days and it turned me into a five year old. Into the crock pot went my chicken chili, I baked up some honey cornbread muffins.. and then spent the day running around outside in the snow. Sledding, snowmobiling, and making hot chocolate to warm up.
So tell me, are you relaxing this week? If not, I’m probably chilling out enough for us all. Here are some beautiful shots of my winter wonderland
