I wanted to share some snapshots from Thanksgiving, as it was a blast- very relaxing and since I didn’t have my usual 10 people to cook for it was a nice change of pace to cook for 3. My Dad came up to visit and since he was in town I used it as an excuse to break out my grandmother’s sugar cookie recipe- I’m pretty sure he ate about a dozen of them in the first hour for “quality control.” They don’t call him the snack man for nothing- and now you see where I get my sweet tooth from.
Oh, the cookie recipe I’ve posted before here, in case you were looking for it. They are a tradition in my family and the first thing I ever can remember baking. Passed down from generation to generation.
Thanksgiving Dinner was low key, but I made sure to prepare all of our favorites. Turkey, gravy, roasted green beans, cornbread sausage stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato souffle, and corn pudding. With apple pie and pumpkin parfaits for dessert- of course.
I have also become obsessed with stars and have used them in anything from pie crust to cookies- to pies in jars with stars… It also looks like I’ll be giving a pie crust tutorial soon as many of you really liked the decorative crust (super, insanely, incredibly, easy)
This week will be a crazy one, with 4 TV segments to do and several events to attend… I am headed over to Better TV this morning to cook with my fave host JD, a few meetings, and I just keep rolling from there.
The fun news to tell you about? Tomorrow morning, I’ll be on the 9:00 hour of the Today Show. I’ve been sitting on that one for a while but am excited to finally share it with you guys- and will be crafting up some pretty fun gift baskets. Please check it out if you can!
