YMC Husband got me two new camera lenses for Christmas. Since then I have been trying to master the art of food photography (in case you wondered, it’s hard). Pictures you think will look amazing come out looking drab. Staging food that you actually want to eat is even harder- I tried photographing my lunch today and in turn it got cold and I had to remake it. I’ve also found that baked goods look much better in pictures than say, salads (funny, they taste better too). It’s all a work in progress but I think I’m rolling right along. The first rule I’ve learned is that a food photo looks much better without a flash- seriously, do not use the flash- it turns things yellow and unflattering. Lastly, Bakerella has a fantastic food photography tutorial up on her site that I wanted to share with you. I learned that I should get a special lamp to make things look good without the daytime light. I’m off to thaw my fingers from shoveling snow off of our driveway. The link is below, enjoy!
